The Qt Labs Developer Blog has just announced an update to the Qt SDK. In a case of good timing, the Qt team have released Qt Creator 2.2.1, which is mainly a bug fix release, at the same time as integrating support for MeeGo 1.2 Harmattan. Support for MeeGo Harmattan comes on the day that the N9 was announced at the Nokia Connection event in Singapore. Read on for more details.
The Qt Creator release came about as various bug fixes had accumulated in the Qt IDE 2.2 branch over the last six weeks. According to Qt's Eike Ziller, there are around 30 bug fixes, including, but not limited to:
Fixed ABI detection of static mingw libraries
Some CDB debugging fixes and a few other small debugging fixes
Fixes to resolving imports in QML and the mobility type descriptions
Translation fixes
In the post by Qt's Maurice Kalinowski, the support for MeeGo Harmattan is not yet complete. Therefore, developers will find MeeGo Harmattan in the experimental section of their SDK updater. Once added, developers will find a corresponding compilation target (in addition to Symbian targets) in their Qt Creator application. Developers may also like to know that there are a limited number of Nokia N950's available for loan to MeeGo community developers.
